Liverpool fans praise “outstanding” 27-year-old’s display in Burnley win
Liverpool beat Burnley 3-0 on Wednesday night in the Premier League – and some of the Reds fans on Twitter picked out Andy Robertson for his excellent individual display.
Jurgen Klopp’s side moved up to fourth in the league table after a victory at Turf Moor.
Roberto Firmino, Nat Phillips and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were all on the scoresheet for the Merseyside giants to secure a vital result.
It means they are in pole position for Champions League qualification going into their final game of the season at home to Crystal Palace.
They are above fifth-placed Leicester on goal difference with a four-goal margin in their favour, so a win against Palace is likely to be enough to secure top four.
A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media named their Robertson defender as an excellent performer against Burnley.
The 27-year-old left-back was a constant attacking threat with his runs forward, providing two assists during the match.
It’s been a difficult campaign overall for Liverpool that has seen them put up a miserable title defence, with rivals Manchester City flying towards the crown.
However, they are ending it very strongly to potentially sneak into the top four, and Robertson has been one of the few individuals that has remained consistent throughout the entire campaign.
Here are some Reds fans praising Robertson:
How anyone can claim Andy Robertson is not world class and claim to know ball is beyond me.
