Liverpool’s Under-19s side beat Genk on Wednesday afternoon in the UEFA Youth League – and some Reds fans on Twitter picked out their player Harvey Elliott for praise following his performance.
The Merseyside club recorded a 2-0 victory and will hope the senior team can repeat the winning feat on Wednesday night against the Belgian opposition in the Champions League group stages.
Barry Lewtas’ team went in front with Layton Stewart’s penalty in the first-half and added a second through Curtis Jones.
There are a number of talented individuals coming through the youth tanks at Anfield and they have first teamer Trent Alexander-Arnold as the perfect role model to look towards.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media praised Elliott for his contribution in the youth fixture.
The 16-year-old attacker managed an eye-catching assist for the second Liverpool goal with a chipped through ball and came off in the 89th minute.
He is a right-winger that likes to cut inside on his favoured left foot and joined from Fulham in the summer with a big reputation as a future star.
Elliott is still a developing talent at the start of his career trying to learn, but he was handed a senior Reds debut by Jurgen Klopp earlier in the season by completing the full game in an away win at MK Dons.
Here are some Liverpool fans on Elliott:
