Liverpool fans on Twitter aren't happy as Jon Moss set to take charge of Watford clash

Liverpool fans on Twitter aren’t happy with their refereeing appointment.

After the international break, Liverpool return to action with a trip to face Watford.

The clash at Vicarage Road at the weekend is the first of Premier League matchday 8.

Ahead of the the week of fixtures the Premier League have announced who’s officiating which games.

That has brought the news that Liverpool’s game is being refereed by Jon Moss (Premierleague.com).

Moss will be assisted by Marc Perry and Timothy Wood with Tony Harrington as fourth official.

The VAR for the game will be Stuart Attwell.

Liverpool will be looking to continue their unbeaten run this season.

After seven games, Jurgen Klopp’s side are the only Premier League outfit without a loss.

They’re second in the table behind Chelsea and will be keen to usurp the Blues.

A win over Watford could do just that but it seems the fans are worried over the officials.

One incident that lives long in the memories for the fans occurred whilst Moss was refereeing them.

During a 2018 clash with Tottenham, Moss was seen giving a penalty to Spurs at Anfield despite claiming he wasn’t sure.

Football fans have long memories and all hold that incident against Moss.

Hopefully, this weekend will pass by without an incident.

Klopp’s side will be desperate to get through this game against the promoted side with ease.

The last time that the Reds travelled to Watford they were beaten 3-0.

That game marked the end of Liverpool’s unbeaten record in their 2019/20 title winning season.

However, that game aside, the Reds have a good record vs Watford.

Mo Salah once scored four against the Hornets, whilst Emre Can scored the Premier League goal of the season for Liverpool vs Watford.

Hopefully, another memory like that can come from this Saturday and not a refereeing incident.
