Liverpool fans not impressed with Andy Robertson despite Porto win

Liverpool earned an excellent 4-1 win away at FC Porto on Wednesday night to book their place in the Champions League semi-finals – but fans have criticised Andy Robertson for his display, despite the result.

VAR was involved once again, overturning the officials’ decision to give Liverpool the lead. Sadio Mane slid in for his 22nd goal of the season – but it was originally ruled out for offside.

Mo Salah made it two after an excellent pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold. Porto’s Eder Militao scored a header, but it was Liverpool’s night. Roberto Firmino got in on the act, before Virgil van Dijk headed home a corner.

It saw Jurgen Klopp’s side reach the Champions League semi-finals for the second consecutive season, winning 6-1 on aggregate and although the overall performance not being their best, they still managed a 4-1 win on the night.

Scotland captain Robertson, 25 – who joined Liverpool for £10million (BBC) – has once again been in excellent form this season and continues to be one of Liverpool’s most reliable players. But he struggled in the Estadio do Dragao.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter to comment on Robertson’s display, with many describing him as “shocking” or even in once case a “liability”. He remains first choice ahead of Alberto Moreno and James Milner.
