Liverpool fans love what James Milner did in first half against Porto on Tuesday
Liverpool cruised to a superb 5-1 away win over FC Porto on Tuesday night in the Champions League – and fans have lauded James Milner on Twitter.
The Reds came into the match after failing to beat newly-promoted Brentford on Saturday evening, playing out an enthralling 3-3 draw.
However, they looked at it from the first moment on Tuesday night. The Reds dominated despite playing away from home in a hostile stadium.
Mo Salah netted his sixth goal of the season after Curtis Jones cut inside and had an effort parried in the direction of the Egyptian superstar.
Then, Milner produced a moment of magic – delivering a perfect cross that split the defence and the goalkeeper. It fell to Sadio Mane, who tapped in.
It was 3-0 soon after the half-time whistle when Jones, who was superb throughout the 5-1 win, rolled a perfect pass into Salah for his seventh.
Porto did get one back, but Liverpool were not done. A fourth came after Roberto Firmino rounded the goalkeeper, before finishing from distance.

The Brazil international looked good after coming off the bench and it was five soon after. A lengthy VAR check ruled Firmino’s second okay.
A brilliant performance from Liverpool, who now have six points from six after their opening group win over Milan at Anfield earlier this month.
But it was Milner that earned plenty of praise. From right-back, the £140k-a-week (Spotrac) star’s cross for Mane earned plaudits from Liverpool fans.
