Liverpool and Leeds United played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road on Monday night as Jurgen Klopp’s team suffered a blow in their attempts to claim a top-four finish.

One man who did impress for Liverpool was former Leeds United star, James Milner.

The 35-year-old began his career with the Whites and was born and raised in West Yorkshire.

Milner is ageing like a fine wine and he produced another decent display against his former club on Monday night.

The experienced midfielder was handed a start in the middle of the park alongside Gini Wijnaldum and Thiago Alcantara.

He didn’t disappoint and rose to the occasion with aplomb, rolling back the years and earning praise from the club’s supporters.

These days the midfielder does perhaps struggle to put maximum impact on the game for the full 90 minutes but his work rate is immense.

Milner has won the Champions League and the Premier League with Liverpool and since arriving at Anfield he’s played 246 times for the club.

Despite his vast years, he appears capable of still doing a job for the club and is clearly trusted by boss Jurgen Klopp.

Following tonight’s clash, we looked at what supporters were saying about the £140,000-a-week Liverpool star on Twitter.
