Liverpool fans impressed by Caglar Soyuncu’s display for Leicester, despite 4-0 loss

Liverpool stunned Leicester City with one of the Premier League performances of the campaign on Boxing Day as they trounced Brendan Rodgers’ side 4-0 at the King Power – but Liverpool fans believe one Leicester player can hold his head high.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was the star of the show as the England international scored Liverpool’s fourth with an excellent first-time strike, but also created the previous three goals – laying on two assists for Roberto Firmino to score.

His corner was handled by Turkey international Soyunc, though the powerful defender can deem himself somewhat unfortunate given that the pace of the delivery gave the ex-Freiburg man little chance to get out of the way.

James Milner converted the penalty, but 23-year-old Soyuncu did impress despite the scoreline. His pace at the back was more than apparent, as well as his ability on the ball and his array of passing. It is unsurprising that Manchester City are being linked.

Liverpool, themselves, were linked with Soyuncu in the summer of 2018 before he joined Leicester for £19million (Sky Sports). According to Turkish-Football.com, Liverpool sent scouts almost 18 months ago to watch Soyuncu, prior to joining The Foxes.

Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to the defender’s performance, and despite the scoreline, many were impressed with his efforts against a Reds side that were simply unstoppable – even against the Premier League’s second-placed side.
