Liverpool fans’ message to Arne Slot about James McConnell
Liverpool fans have urged Slot to keep James McConnell around the squad this season and are confident he can contribute to the rest of their campaign.
Some supporters were impressed by his display in the number six role and how composed the youngster looked in such a big match.
After the defeat, Liverpool fans took to X to share how impressed they were with the 20-year-old’s performance in the Netherlands.
One fan said: “The best thing about James McConnell is that he always plays with a smile on his face. He doesn’t dwell on mistakes, just gets up and carries on. He reminds me a bit of Scott McTominay in terms of physique and all-roundedness. He’s not really a number six and not really a number eight but he could be either.”
“There was not a lot of talk about James McConnell last night but he was more composed than a lot of his teammates. He’s a natural number six and I wouldn’t be loaning him out this window,” added another.
There was yet more praise for McConnell: “The result didn’t matter last night but some of the younger lads got the feel of a Euro away. James McConnell doesn’t mess around, does he? One to watch maybe.”
“I really like James McConnell. I pray he continues to rise and becomes one of those great ones. There’s something about the way he plays,” claimed another supporter.
