Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk ended up being the match-winner on Saturday afternoon.
It was a difficult game for Liverpool as they sneaked to a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Van Dijk scored both of Liverpool’s goals in a game that was closer than it should have been for the leaders.

Van Dijk scored a double in the first-half to put Liverpool in the driving seat. But Brighton threatened throughout and they came back into the game shortly after Liverpool went down to 10 men.
Alisson was sent off for handling the ball outside of the box and Adrian’s first touch was picking the ball out of the net. But Liverpool’s defence, led by Van Dijk, managed to close the game out.
Van Dijk might not have kept the clean sheet but he was widely hailed on Twitter. His two goals were vital as Liverpool continue to storm ahead of the top of the Premier League table.
