Liverpool fans hail their ‘underrated’ player after 2-0 Burnley win
Liverpool secured a 2-0 win over Burnley today in the Premier League – and some Reds fans on Twitter were left raving about the performance of their goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Jurgen Klopp’s side made it two wins out of two in the league by beating Burnley by a two-goal margin at Anfield on Saturday.
In-form attacker Diogo Jota opened the scoring inside the opening 20 minutes with his bullet header. Afterwards, Sadio Mane doubled the advantage with his goal in the second half.
It was a game where Liverpool earned another three points, but visitors Burnley put in a strong display themselves to ask a lot of questions of their opponents.
Alisson will be vital yet again this season for Liverpool
Liverpool kept a clean sheet at the weekend against Burnley, something they had to work hard for.
Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson has been top class since his move to England in 2018 and he looked as good as ever today.
For example, he made a brilliant late save from Ashley Barnes to preserve a clean sheet. Also, during the first half he made a couple of notable blocks and was a composing figure at the back for his defence.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper is a colossus figure for the Merseyside club and some supporters believe he may recapture the kind of form he showed during his debut season at Anfield in the 2018/19 season. In truth, he’s been superb throughout his entire time in England.
