Liverpool fans hail performance of goalkeeper Alisson in Atalanta win

Liverpool thrashed Atalanta 5-0 on Tuesday night in the Champions League group stages – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left raving about the performance of their goalkeeper Alisson.

Jurgen Klopp’s side made it nine points from nine in their European group with a superb showing in Italy against Atalanta, who made it to the quarter-finals of last season’s Champions League competition.

Summer signing Diogo Jota once again proved his class by netting his first Liverpool hat-trick, while the usual suspect Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were also on the scoresheet to blow their opponents away.

It will be the perfect confidence boost for the Merseyside giants going into the weekend, as they face off against rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media were thoroughly impressed by the team’s play in attack, but they felt that Alisson was someone who went under the radar and deserved credit.

The 28-year-old shot-stopper pulled off a few incredible saves to preserve the clean sheet for his team and was a calming influence behind the backline that are still looking to settle without long-term injury absentee Virgil van Dijk.
