Many Liverpool fans are directing their thanks towards Jurgen Klopp’s wife, after reports emerged on Tuesday that she steered him away from a potential move to Manchester United.
According to former Reds defender Phil Thompson, Ulla Klopp said to her husband that a move to Old Trafford ‘wasn’t right’.

Thompson told TV2 (quoted by The Daily Mail): “I interviewed Klopp for Sky, and I asked if he and Liverpool were created for each other. He looked at me and asked ‘Why?’,’ he said.
“Then Klopp told me he could have taken over Manchester United, but his wife said it wasn’t right.
“When Liverpool arrived, his wife said it was right. There is something strange there. It is as if he’s created for Liverpool.”
Social worker Ulla’s intervention came shortly after Klopp had just won back-to-back Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund and made the 2013 Champions League final.

Over in the Premier League, new United boss David Moyes was struggling after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
Klopp remained with Dortmund until October 2015, when Liverpool swooped after sacking Brendan Rodgers, and it’s safe to say, his appointment has been a massively successful one.
Liverpool fans react
Many Liverpool fans hailed Mrs. Klopp for her contributions as seemingly without her, Liverpool wouldn’t not be looking the best they have for many years.
