Curtis Jones scored a hat-trick for Liverpool’s Under-19s side on Wednesday – and some of the club’s supporters raved about their rising star on Twitter following his performance.

The Reds produced a commanding display to beat Napoli 7-0 in the UEFA Youth League, while the senior teams ending up drawing 1-1 at Anfield later on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Jones scored three goals for the Merseyside giants, with the final one a left-footed rocket from outside of the box.

Luis Longstaff (two), Jake Cain and Elijah Dixon-Bonner were also on the scoresheet for Barry Lewtas’ Under-19s outfit.

Jones is one of the most promising talents coming through the Liverpool academy and he’s already made three senior appearances for the club.

The 18-year-old captained the Reds in midweek and sent out a statement with his performance.

He is a versatile player that is traditional a central midfielder, but he’s got such an eye for goal that he’s commonly been used as a winger or a forward this season
