Liverpool had to settle for a point on their visit to St James’ Park on Wednesday night – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter did give huge praise to their defender Andy Robertson for his individual performance.
The Reds were unable to find a breakthrough against a stubborn opponent in Newcastle United, with the teams finishing level at 0-0 in the midweek Premier League fixture.
Jurgen Klopp’s side sit three points clear at the top of the league table going into the New Year, but second-placed Manchester United are now only three points behind them with a game in hand.
The Merseyside giants were unable to find a clinical touch in front of goal and have struggled against teams at the bottom end of the table so far this season, but still lead the way in the defence of their league crown.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media believe that Robertson was a bright spark for them and have hailed his consistency.
The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the world’s very best left-backs in the last few years and he provides such a threat for his side down the flank, something he did during the Newcastle contest.
He was unable to add to his tally of five assists so far this season, but he put some excellent crosses into the box and the aggressive Scottish defender was positive whenever in possession.
