Roberto Firmino helped Brazil begin the Copa America with a 3-0 victory against Bolivia on Saturday – and some Liverpool fans on Twitter praised their ace for his performance.
The 27-year-old got the nod to lead the line and was replaced in the second-half by Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
Firmino was unable to get himself on the scoresheet, but produced a stunning chipped cross to assist ex-Reds star Philippe Coutinho for one of his two goals in the match.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker was another Liverpool representative on show and he kept his customary clean sheet.
Firmino is set to play an important role in the Copa America tournament this summer and will be hoping to guide his team to international success.
The unselfish centre-forward helped Liverpool win the Champions League last season and is so good at bringing teammates into play.
He made 48 appearances across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s team last season, scoring 16 goals and supplying eight assists in return.
A selection of Liverpool fans on social media were impressed by their striker’s latest efforts at international level and it’s why he’s such a popular figure around Anfield.
He’s taken his game to a whole new level in recent years and Klopp deserves immense credit for the step up.
Here are some Liverpool fans commenting on Firmino:
If only they played Firmino more than Gabriel Jesus in the world cup
