Liverpool fans go wild about Adam Lewis after his Under-23s performance

Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis was in action on Friday afternoon – and many of the club’s supporters on Twitter were raving about the quality of his performance.

The Reds Under-23s side earned a 3-1 victory against Derby, as senior figure Alex Oxlade-Chamberlian made his return from a long-term injury.

Curtis Jones (two) and Rafael Camacho were on the scoresheet for the Merseyside club, who have a number of talented youngsters in their ranks hopeful of a senior breakthrough.

A selection of Liverpool fans picked out Lewis as a promising talent that could have a future with the first team at Anfield.

The 19-year-old is a left-back by trade, with one fan suggesting he could definitely replace Alberto Moreno in the senior set-up.

He showed his versatility against Derby by dropping into a defensive midfield role and was extremely comfortable on the ball.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has taken the path recently from the Liverpool academy to the first team and is now the club’s first-choice right-back.

Lewis is an attack-minded full-back that continues to catch the eye at youth level and manager Jurgen Klopp will surely be well aware of his qualities.
