‘Can someone explain?’: Liverpool fans fuming with Klopp for leaving Konate out at West Ham

Liverpool and their supporters were left reeling tonight as West Ham United saw off the Reds in the Super Sunday game in East London.

The Hammers were good value for the win and managed to cause Liverpool problems all night with their set-pieces. Ultimately, Alisson and his defenders couldn’t live with David Moyes’ men in terms of the aerial battle.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp opted to go with his tried and trusted back two of Van Dijk and Joel Matip. It meant leaving the impressive Ibrahima Konate out, and that’s a decision that some Reds fans have been questioning.

Konate, a big money signing in the summer, had impressed at Old Trafford and looked every bit the top class defender Liverpool wanted. However, he was left out today and some have questioned Klopp’s decision.

Twitter was full of comments from Liverpool fans tonight. And a lot of them were wanting to know why Klopp didn’t go with Konate from the off.
