Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave his assessment on his side’s defeat to Chelsea on Thursday night – and it’s not gone down well with supporters.
The Reds have now lost their last five home matches, which is a staggering record at Anfield.
Visitors Chelsea produced an excellent counter-attacking performance to win 1-0, with Mason Mount scoring late in the first half with an accurate low finish.
Klopp said post-match that Mount’s individual brilliance was the difference in a “tight game”.
“Intense game, tight game, one very decisive moment decided the game – the individual quality of Mason, if you want, in that situation decided the game,” Klopp said, as quoted by Liverpool’s official website.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media believe that Klopp’s assessment was well wide of the mark, claiming that they deserved their loss against rivals Chelsea.
It was another fixture where the Merseyside giants lacked a cutting edge going forward, something that has been a real problem for them in the past couple of months and has seen them look a shadow of the team they’ve been in the recent seasons.
They managed just one shot on target during the 90 minutes, while their opponents had five and looked threatening whenever they attacked.
The result means that Klopp’s team are seventh in the table and now have a huge fight on their hands to finish in the top four.
Here are some Liverpool fans strongly disagreeing with Klopp:
