Liverpool fans drool over Chelsea star after enthralling 5-3 win

Liverpool earned a 5-3 win over Chelsea on Wednesday evening at Anfield as the Reds celebrated lifting the Premier League trophy with a bang – and Reds fans have discussed Christian Pulisic’s performance.

Jurgen Klopp’s side came into the match with a desire to secure all three points, with Jordan Henderson lifting the trophy after the match. But not many could have predicted the enthralling clash between the two sides.

Naby Keita handed Liverpool the lead with a stunning strike from the best part of 25 yards that dipped over Kepa Arrizabalaga. Trent Alexander-Arnold made it two with a trademark free-kick that left Kepa stranded.

They did not stop there. Gini Wijnaldum volleyed home from a corner, after Chelsea failed to defend. But Olivier Giroud instantly replied before half-time, netting in the third minute of first-half injury time.

A perfect Alexander-Arnold cross saw Roberto Firmino head home to make it 4-1, but Chelsea looked to spoil the match as goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic saw the match end narrower than it should have been.

But that pressure was alleviated when Andy Robertson cross for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to make it five. But it was 21-year-old star Pulisic’s performance that caught the eye of some Liverpool fans.

Pulisic played under Klopp for a matter of months at Dortmund after signing for the German side in 2015 – and was the subject of an £11million bid from Liverpool in 2016 (Telegraph). Chelsea signed him for £58million (BBC).

Liverpool fans were impressed with the American, praising him profusely. Some even urged their club to consider a move for Pulisic, who only came on to the field of play in the 59th minute.
