Liverpool fans drool over Brighton attacker Leandro Trossard after incredible Tuesday goal
Leandro Trossard scored a beautiful solo goal for Brighton on Tuesday night in a sensational win for the Seagulls that saw them come from 2-0 down against Manchester City to win 3-2 – and Liverpool fans have raved about the Belgian attacker on Twitter.
Trossard, 26, had just received some excellent news before the clash against Manchester City, after being named in Roberto Martinez’s 26-man Belgium side to take part at this summer’s Euro 2020. He celebrated with one of the goals of the month.
Picking up the ball just inside City’s half, Trossard turned in an instant and drove at the Manchester City defence. City were on the back foot having lost Joao Cancelo in the tenth minute, and Brighton took full advantage of their numerical advantage.
Trossard ran towards the left side flank before cutting in on the right, faking to shoot and going past Eric Garcia and John Stones – before flooring Ruben Dias and then lashing an effort from 10 yards into the top corner past Ederson.
A beautiful goal, and somewhat surprisingly, only Trossard’s fifth of the season. It sparked an amazing comeback from Graham Potter’s side – as a brilliant header from Adam Webster saw Brighton equalise, after goals from Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan.
Then, late on, marauding – yet lofty – left-back Dan Burn made it three. He carried on his run into the penalty area and unmarked, he managed to bundle the ball into the back of the net past Ederson to beat the Premier League champions.
Liverpool, meanwhile, remain in the hunt for a finish in the top four but what is clear, is that they need to have a summer revamp in numerous positions. They need cover up top, with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino struggling at times.
Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and other Liverpool forwards have been linked with the exit door. They will need replacing, despite the presence of Diogo Jota – and Trossard could be the ideal addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Not least, because Brighton’s £15million (Telegraph) man offers versatility. He can play as an out-and-out winger, as a striker or in the 10 role. He is also very suited to playing in the kind of winger-striker role that both Salah and Mane play under Klopp.
Speed, goals, trickery and the ability to produce moments of magic that changes a game, Trossard would be an excellent addition at Anfield given that he would be happy to be back-up – but can come in and instantly provide moments of magic.
Numerous Brighton players have been linked with Liverpool of late – more notably midfielder Yves Bissouma and defender Ben White, but if Liverpool are to sign any of Potter’s players in the coming months, then they really need to go after Trossard.
Many Liverpool fans discussed the Belgian and his brilliant goal on Twitter on Tuesday night, and it is clear that many would welcome his arrival at Anfield if the Reds choose to go after the former Genk star this summer.
we should try to sign trossard and bissouma

Can’t blame him Trossard is just too good. I’d take him at Liverpool every day of the week, would be an amazing Mané replacement https://t.co/kZGZHe2F08
