Former Liverpool ace Danny Murphy recently told Talk Sport that the club would be scarier in attack if Kylian Mbappe replaced Roberto Firmino.
The comments came on the back of the Brazilian being linked with a summer switch to Bayern Munich for £75 million.
Murphy believes the Frenchman even more of a force to be reckoned with, claiming Firmino is replaceable in Jurgen Klopp’s team.
He told Talk Sport: “I think if Mbappe was playing upfront with Mane and Salah, it would be scarier than playing with Firmino, Mane and Salah.
“I’m not belittling what Firmino has done, I think he’s a wonderful footballer.”
It’s fair to say, however, that Liverpool fans don’t really agree with the former midfield maestro.
On the back of Murphy’s comments, many supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss the prospect of Firmino departing and being replaced with Mbappe.
Many, of course, believe the Frenchman possesses the class to improve any team in the world, but are of the belief that Firmino is integral to Klopp’s system.
He has helped the club towards European glory and has them on course for their first-ever Premier League title this season.
Here is a selection of tweets from Liverpool supporters on the back of Murphy’s recent comments:
I like Mbappe but Firmino is irreplaceable. He is the heartbeat of Liverpool system. He is not always the opponents target but he wrecks havoc to them.

Firmino is THE STRIKER that connects the dots offensively. Mbappe will be more suited to City's style

Firmino is a selfless player that has an incredible work rate off the ball and defends tirelessly. The chemistry is key. Not the same player as Mbappe so everyone would have to adjust.
