Liverpool star Mohamed Salah came seventh in this year’s Ballon d’Or, with Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema being named in the top three.
The Egyptian forward has been in fine form during 2021. He has been an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s team and some believe he’s the best player in the world on current form.
Salah couldn’t make the top five though and that hasn’t gone down particularly well with those of a Liverpool persuasion.

The 29-year-old is a man in great form and there’s every reason he could lead Liverpool to another league title this season.
Salah has bagged 17 goals during 2021/22 to go with the 31 he scored during the 2020/21 campaign.
Operating as a right-winger, the man who signed for Liverpool from Roma is often a menace to opposition defenders.
Given that he didn’t really cut it at Chelsea earlier in his career, it’s all the more remarkable just how utterly brilliant he’s been at Anfield.
In 221 appearances for Liverpool, he has scored 142 times and also claimed 54 assists.
What have Liverpool fans said about Salah?
After last night’s award ceremony, the Reds fan base cannot fathom how Salah has only hit seventh place.
They believe their main man should have at least made the top five; with some of the belief that as the current best player in the world, he should have won it!

Salah is in blistering form and quite clearly, Messi has won the award based on his heroics at the summer’s Copa America which he helped Argentina to win.
Supporters would be wise to take the Ballon d’Or with a pinch of salt anyway, with the marking system appearing flawed for years.
Here is what the Liverpool fan base have had to say on the back of Salah finishing seventh at the end of year award ceremony.
