Liverpool fans discuss performance of Harvey Elliott during Chelsea clash
Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by a dogged Chelsea side. Mohamed Salah cancelled out Kai Havertz’s first-half goal. Afterwards, it was youngster Harvey Elliott who came in for some praise from the Liverpool fan base.
The teenager has been operating in the central midfield engine room so far this season. It’s a role he appears to have thrived in and he’s really kicking on after his loan with Blackburn Rovers last season.
Elliott was a late substitute in the first-day victory over Norwich City. He played the final seven minutes as Liverpool won 3-0. He played the full 90 minutes during wins against Burnley and last night against Chelsea.
He hasn’t disappointed either. To say he’s operating in a position he’s not overly familiar with, the talented performer has really caught the eye.
Jurgen Klopp is impressed with his talented gem of a player. Indeed, the versatility he is showcasing makes him an even more exciting proposition for the future.
It has been claimed that Liverpool won’t seek a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum this month. Given the form Elliott has showcased, that doesn’t come to much surprise.
What did Liverpool fans have to say about Elliott?
The Reds fan base have been quick to rave about their new kid on the block. Very few would have predicted him to come from Blackburn and look quite so accomplished just yet.
He didn’t look fazed against the Champions of Europe and there is more to come from the youngster in the coming months.
Following yesterday’s game, Liverpool fans couldn’t speak highly enough of the performer. They took to Twitter to rave about Elliott and here is what they had to say.
