Pedro Chirivella is reportedly set to reject a new deal at Liverpool this summer after reports claimed the midfielder had been offered a five-year deal at Anfield – and Reds supporters have reacted on Twitter, amid links to Rangers.
Chirivella, who turns 23 on Friday, has enjoyed his best season since moving to Liverpool in 2015. The anchoring midfielder has played seven times for the club’s first team – including an excellent 1-0 FA Cup win over Merseyside rivals Everton.
The Liverpool Echo have claimed that the Reds have tabled a five-year deal to keep Chirivella this summer, with the former Valencia star’s performances and application off the pitch impressing coaching staff and indeed, Jurgen Klopp.

But the report states that Chirivella is set to join Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne in leaving the club this summer on a free transfer, as he is desperate to gain regular first-team football elsewhere having played just 11 times for Liverpool in five years.
The report states French side Nantes and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are interested in Chirivella, who cost Liverpool a bargain £2million (Echo) from Valencia in 2015. Indeed, Chirivella is now expected to end his stay on Merseyside.
Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Chirivella is due to leave Liverpool this summer after rejecting a contract with Klopp’s side – and many Liverpool fans reckon he is Rangers bound, while some want him gone.
