Liverpool fans discuss Naby Keita ahead of 2021/22 campaign
Liverpool will go in search of another Premier League title when the 2021/22 campaign gets underway. The Reds lost their maiden crown to Manchester City last season and they’ll want retribution.
One man who faces a big campaign is Naby Keita. The Guinean midfielder has often struggled to stay fit during his time at Liverpool. He is, however, with the team on their pre-season training camp in Austria.
Keita arrived with a big build-up. Liverpool parted with £48 million to sign the midfielder from Leipzig in 2017. Now 26, the player has managed 76 appearances for the Reds, scoring seven goals and claiming four assists.
Plenty of supporters are hopeful that he can still make an impact at Anfield. Others, however, remain unconvinced and think Liverpool should be trying to offload the maestro this summer.
Last season was another campaign of frustration for Keita. He played just 16 times for the Reds and failed to register a single goal contribution. Just seven of those appearances came as starts.
The man with 38 caps for his country earns £120,000-a-week for the Reds. It’s fair to say that the 2021/22 campaign could be the last chance saloon for Keita.
Liverpool fans seem positive over Keita
The Liverpool man will be desperate to prove a point this season. Boss Jurgen Klopp has stayed pretty loyal to his midfielder and he must start repaying such faith.
It would seem as though plenty of Liverpool supporters are hopeful regarding Keita too. Many have taken to Twitter to speak of their delight that the midfielder is on the pre-season tour.
Plenty of debate is taking place on social media at this stage over who might feature under Klopp next season. It seems clear that some would welcome another chance to see Keita get a run of games in the first team.
Here is what the Liverpool fan base had to say on Twitter as Keita is spotted in some training pictures released by the club.
