Marko Grujic played an important role in FC Porto’s stunning Champions League victory over Juventus on Tuesday night as the Portuguese side beat the Italian champions in extra-time – and Liverpool fans have praised their on-loan midfielder.
It took extra-time but Porto managed to knock Cristiano Ronaldo and Andrea Pirlo out of the competition, despite playing more than an hour of football with just 10 men. Mehdi Taremi picked up two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.
His sending off came with the scoreline reading 1-1 on the night, and 3-2 to Porto on aggregate. But just moments later on 63 minutes, Federico Chiesa levelled the tie with his second of the night – having earlier cancelled out Sergio Oliviera’s penalty.

The game went into extra time and despite playing with 10 men and Juve dominating, Oliveira lashed a free-kick past Wojciech Szczesny. Adrien Rabiot scored to make it 4-4 on aggregate, but given Porto had scored two away goals – they went through.
Grujic, 24, has clocked up 27 appearances for Porto since swapping Liverpool for the Portuguese outfit. He came on just before extra-time and showed some nice touches. The Serb’s athleticism helped Porto get up the park when needed.
Liverpool fans were watching on and discussed his performance on Twitter during and after the match. They were impressed and many have suggested that Klopp looks to keep him at Anfield this summer, rather than selling him for £20million (Goal).
