Ibrahima Konate made his Liverpool debut last night as Jurgen Klopp’s men cranked up their pre-season preparations with two friendlies at the same time.
The summer signing played the second half an hour as Liverpool drew 1-1 with VfB Stuttgart. Klopp had seen another 11 players draw with Wacker Innsbruck by the same scoreline during the first 30-minute clash.
Konate has been Liverpool’s only signing so far during the close season. He checked in from RB Leipzig for £36 million and big things are expected from the player.

The 22-year-old made 21 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit last season, scoring a solitary goal. He also made 13 appearances for the France under-21 team where he has been captaining the side.
Konate looked impressive during his maiden outing and Klopp will hope there is more to come from the combative defender.
Last season, Liverpool endured rotten luck with their central defenders. Virgil van Dijk missed the majority of the season, whilst Joe Gomez also picked up a serious knee problem. Joel Matip also barely played.
That saw a number of different combinations tried. Nat Phillips came to the fore, whilst Rhys Williams also showcased his potential to the Reds boss.
Future star: Liverpool excited by Konate
It’s fair to say the fan base can’t wait to see a little bit more of their new French recruit. Liverpool’s pre-season campaign will really kick off in the next week or so and more games will be forthcoming.
It seems as though some are already convinced of his quality, however, responding on Twitter to his debut showing.

After his 30-minute cameo, supporters took to Twitter to speak of their delight at finally seeing their newcomer in action for the Reds.
Here is what the fan base had to say on Twitter as Konate wears the famous red of Liverpool for the very first time.
