Liverpool fans discuss Alisson display at Crystal Palace

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the performance of Alisson after the goalkeeper produced a big display in their Premier League win at Crystal Palace.

The Reds have moved to within nine points of Manchester City with a game in hand after a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park. Virgil van Dijk and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored in the first-half for the visitors.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men were nowhere near their best and will feel incredibly relieved to have taken three points from the contest. Certainly, Palace had looked more likely to score next after Odsonne Edouard had halved the deficit.

Thankfully, Fabinho converted from the spot to seal the victory late on.

A number of players were underwhelming against the Eagles. But one man who could have done little more to ensure that Liverpool got the win was Alisson.

The Brazilian could have done nothing about the Palace goal with the home side breaking through the Liverpool backline with ease before Edouard was played in.

But Alisson did make a number of huge saves, particularly in the spells just before and after the break. Liverpool ultimately managed to weather the storm and see the contest out.

Alisson was not given too much to do during the latter stages. But his efforts when Palace were threatening to score were incredibly important.

Several Liverpool fans felt that Alisson kept their side in the game. And many have taken to social media to laud his performance.

Liverpool will not always be at their best, particularly with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane still away on international duty. But it is vital that they continue to pick up wins when they are unable to get into top gear.

Alisson’s performance ensured that they were able to get that key result on Sunday.
