Liverpool fans desperate for club to sign Porto star, after incredible moment v Brazil
Luis Diaz is a target for Liverpool ahead of January according to The Independent – and Reds fans loved what he did against Brazil on Monday.
Diaz, 24, has made a sparkling start to the 21-22 campaign – scoring six goals in eight league games for Porto. He played in Liverpool’s 5-1 away win.
In 107 games since moving to Porto, he has scored 31 goals and laid on 14 assists. That is, even though he has started just 70 of those matches.
A 28-time Colombia international, Diaz saw out the entire 90 minutes as his side earned a point against top-of-the-group Brazil in World Cup qualifying.
While Leeds star Raphinha caught the headlines for his impressive cameo on the right, a clip of Diaz producing some incredible skill has emerged.
Faced with Manchester United’s Fred and PSG skipper Marquinhos, he went round both players – with some incredible footwork on Monday.
What are Liverpool fans saying about Porto star Diaz?
It goes without saying that Liverpool need attacking players that can cover both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. Right now, they lack that luxury.
Injury to Harvey Elliott came days after Xherdan Shaqiri was sold to Lyon. Salah and Mane will be representing their nations in the AFCON in January.
So, a goalscoring winger is needed and Diaz fits the bill. However, Sapo Desporto said in the summer that Porto wanted a whopping £68million.
Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the moment of genius from Diaz earlier this week – amid the reports that the Reds want to sign him.
