Premier League champions Liverpool travel to Newcastle United on Sunday for their last game of the season – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have urged their manager Jurgen Klopp to play attacker Takumi Minamino.
The Reds recently lifted the league crown following their win over Chelsea in midweek and will finish the campaign with 99 points if they secure a victory at St James’ Park.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have steamrolled the rest of the division en route to the top-flight title and it will be no surprise to see them bow out in style.
A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media have demanded that fringe player Minamino is given a rare start against Newcastle.
The Japan international only joined the Merseyside club in January from Red Bull Salzburg and has made 13 first-team appearances so far, which helped him earn a domestic medal.
He is an exciting forward player that can slot in anywhere across the frontline and dazzled in the first half of the season for Salzburg, but is yet to really find his A-game at Anfield.
The Reds snapped the 25-year-old up for a bargain £7.25million (BBC) by activating his release clause and the best is still yet to come from him.
Here are some Liverpool fans discussing Minamino:

Minamino should start tomorrow on the Right side of the front 3. Salah needs rest.

My team for Sunday:
Adrian, Williams, Gomez, Lovren, Milner, Fabinho, Jones, Lallana, Elliott, Minamino, Shaqiri

I’d start Harvey, Williams and Jones have had starts and this is the last time I could see him getting a start in a league game for a while. I’d be tempted to give Minamino somewhere close to 90 mins too, but not sure if both in there would be too weak for Klopp’s liking

I hope Klopp plays youngster in our last match. I wanna see Minamino and Origi as our strike partnership. Lallana, Milner, Keita, and Ox as our midfield.

Agree mate! Keita has come out of his shell and his performances have shown that. I too hope that Minamino can start showing his talent. Think he needs to work out in the gym more, as he needs a bit more body strength imo. ????
