Liverpool face Chelsea in Istanbul on Wednesday night in the UEFA Super Cup – and some of the club’s supporters have urged manager Jurgen Klopp to start midfielder Naby Keita.
The Reds face off against their English rivals, as the winners of last season’s Champions League play the winner of last season’s Europe League.
Klopp’s team have kicked off the new campaign by losing on penalties to Manchester City on penalties in the Community Shield, before thrashing Norwich City 4-1 at Anfield last Friday night in the opening game of the Premier League.
Keita was given a late cameo in the Community Shield and was an unused substitute against Norwich.
The 24-year-old is clearly being eased back into action by his manager and did pick up an injury this summer while participating in the Africa Cup of Nations with Guinea.
He had a mixed first year with Liverpool last season, as a spate of injuries problems disrupted him.
But the central midfielder showed enough in patches to get supporters excited and is a real useful option to have in midfield.
Keita managed just three goals in 33 appearances across all competitions last season, but showed at former club RB Leipzig he can be more a goal threat from midfield and that there may be plenty more to come from him.
A selection of Liverpool supporters are desperate to see Keita promoted to the starting XI against Chelsea, who were beaten 4-0 by Manchester Untied in their first league fixture.
Here are some Liverpool fans on Keita:

True words. Keita has to start, Klopp has hyped him up under the preseason. He is so much more talanted than both henderson and wijnaldum
