Liverpool fans call for Firmino to replace Jota vs Man City

Liverpool fans want Roberto Firmino to start against Man City.

The Brazilian has been injured at the start of this season, failing to get a run of games together.

However, in the Champions League against Porto he was back and he starred.

The 29-year-old was introduced off the bench for Mo Salah on 67 minutes but that didn’t stop him netting twice.

Now, though, with Firmino back in the side and amongst the goals, Jurgen Klopp has a selection headache.

Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are nailed on starters vs Manchester City this weekend, leaving one free space in the front three.

The fans have been having their say on whether they want the third man to be Firmino or Diogo Jota.

Emphatically, the fans want it to be Firmino.

The Brazilian has played against Manchester City 16 times in his career and has a very good record against them.

Not only has he won seven and drawn three of those games, but he’s scored five and assisted five against them too (Transfermarkt).

Jota is arguably more of a goal threat then Firmino, but in recent weeks he’s been slightly off it.

Despite Liverpool running out 5-1 winners in Porto, he failed to score.

His hard work on and off the ball is a fantastic thing to have, yet the goals he usually adds just aren’t there at the moment.

With that in mind, the fans have called for Firmino to come in.

Klopp may still throw a curveball into the mix and use all four of his attackers.

However, with Manchester City in fine form in the Premier League having just won at Stamford Bridge, that would be a risk.

Whoever starts, the clash at Anfield will be an exciting one and the fans will get right behind whoever starts.

What do the fans think?
