Liverpool secured a 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion as the Reds continued on their quest for a record points total.

The newly-crowned champions were two goals to the good inside 10 minutes with Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson making their mark.

Leandro Trossard pulled one back for the Seagulls just before the interval, but Salah’s second of the night ensured three more points.

Liverpool have been a joy to watch this season and although their last few performances haven’t been vintage, they are worthy champions.

For boss Jurgen Klopp, the challenge will be to set the record points total, although he will also want to learn something about his squad.

The German will be keen to establish the professionalism of his players and discover who he can rely on next season.

One player who shone last night was midfielder Naby Keita, who grabbed another opportunity in the team with aplomb.

The 25-year-old signed for Liverpool for £48 million and earns £120,000-a-week at Anfield.

Despite those sums, he has failed to hold down a regular spot in Klopp’s team and some supporters were wondering what the future might hold.

An injury struck season has seen him start just seven league games during 2019/20 but on last night’s showing the future is bright.
