Liverpool fans blast Moreno after rotated side crashes out of FA Cup at Wolves

After a frantic Christmas period in which his Liverpool side pulled away at the top of the Premier League, it was no surprise that Jurgen Klopp made wholesale changes for the FA Cup third round trip to face Wolves last night.

The German made no fewer than nine alterations to his side and one of the players who came into the fold was Alberto Moreno, who has been outspoken about his poor morale over the festive period.

Perhaps Klopp wanted to give the Spaniard an opportunity to back up his words with a performance to show what he can do, or put him in the shop window because his contract runs out in the summer.

Either way, it didn’t work, as Moreno was consistently caught out of position as the Reds slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Molineux, with Ruben Neves lashing home the winner from long range in the second half.

Moreno has already become a figure of fun at Anfield and the rampant performances of Andy Robertson in the left back role only serve to show the supporters how far off the required standard the former Seville man is.
