Liverpool have been drawn against Porto in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League, when the action resumes next month.
The Reds will play the home tie at Anfield first, before travelling to Portugal hoping to complete the job a week later to continue their European adventure once more.
Porto were seen as the weakest side left in the draw and Liverpool know exactly how poor they can be; Jurgen Klopp’s side smashed the Liga NOS side 5-0 on their own patch in last season’s Round of 16 to comfortably seal progression.
And with the prospect of facing Manchester United in the semi-finals – if the Reds’ bitter rivals can overcome the might of Barcelona – there’s plenty to get excited about.

The Reds supporters are very confident indeed that they can get past Porto and while it bears repeating that there are no easy games in the Champions League, it’s easy to understand why they’re so pleased.
Another semi-final beckons for the Reds so long as they keep their heads and repeat the trick from last season, when they were far, far too good for an insipid Porto side.
