Milos Kerkez has Liverpool fans all asking the same question after losing to Man United

Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday saw them record their fourth-successive loss in all competitions and Milos Kerkez has taken a hammering for his showing.

Liverpool went into the clash having lost their previous two Premier League games 2-1, coming in last-minute defeats to Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

And history repeated itself again against Manchester United when Bryan Mbeumo’s first-minute strike and a late Harry Maguire header downed them at Anfield for a first home league loss under Arne Slot since September 2024.

But one player in particular in Milos Kerkez has taken a particular hammering for his performance on home turf, with one incident being labelled as the ‘worst-ever’ of its type in Premier League history.

Liverpool fans have huge doubts over Milos Kerkez after Manchester United howler

Kerkez wasn’t at the races against Manchester United. Bryan Mbeumo’s goal after just 62 seconds came down the left-hand side, and he almost scrambled a seemingly innocuous ball into the Cameroonian’s path just a few minutes later.

That, alongside some poor decision-making, saw fans fail to get onboard with his performances and some began to call him out.

One wrote, in retaliation to Kerkez’s £40million move earlier in the summer: “Someone tell Bournemouth they’ve had their fun and now they need to give us the real Milos Kerkez”, while another posted: “Milos Kerkez man what is he even good at”.

A third fan said: “I repeat, Milos Kerkez is not a real footballer. He merely pretends to be one”, and another claimed: “I reckon if you were to sum up Liverpool’s last few weeks in a moment, it would be Virgil van Dijk’s clearance slamming off Milos Kerkez’s face.”

Being compared to Alberto Moreno, who many deem to be a Liverpool flop, isn’t the greatest of comparisons and Kerkez will need to sort his form out after being named in the Premier League Team of the Season last time out.

Milos Kerkez throw-in dubbed the ‘worst-ever’ in Premier League history

Not only was Kerkez poor defensively, but his performance of madness in the first half saw him give away a throw-in for a foul throw of his own.

The Hungarian feebly tossed the ball over his head, resulting in United being awarded a throw-in with little effort.

And fans even took time to comment on the incident, stating that it will be a long season to contend with.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “That Kerkez throw in is all I needed to see to know it’s gonna be one of those seasons”, whilst another put: “Kerkez can’t even do a throw in hahahaha is he even a footballer? Worst signing in our history bar none”.

The barrage of criticism didn’t stop there, with a third fan writing: “Kerkez can’t even throw a ball in man lol”, whilst a final fan posted: “Kerkez foul throw sums up Liverpool’s last three weeks.”

Although the young full-back will be afforded time by fans, this was an awful error that he’ll need to cut out quickly to get them onside.

Gary Neville said Kerkez has been playing football ‘like a baby’ recently, which is a far cry from last season. Kerkez was on Liverpool’s radar as early as November 2024, and their long-standing interest will need to pay off sooner rather than later.
