Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Frenkie de Jong, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard, Matthijs de Ligt have all been nominated for the award.
Liverpool have representation in the form of Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, but lots of Reds supporters are aggrieved at the fact that there is no place on the list for goalkeeper Alisson.
The Brazil number one was sensational in his debut season at Anfield.
He scooped the Golden Glove at the end of the Premier League season, and played a huge part in the club’s Champions League triumph.

He also recently helped Brazil to Copa America glory, making his omission genuinely perplexing.
It is worth noting there is a separate ‘Best FIFA Goalkeeper’ award that has been going since 2017, whichthe26-year-old is surely a hot favourite for.
