Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is enjoying a stunning start to the 2020-21 campaign as his side continue to shine both domestically and in Europe – and Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter to a stunning Rangers stat.
The Gers secured another win in Europe on Thursday night, their fifth this season. Alfredo Morelos has been in and out of form this season, but the Colombia international got on the end of a Borna Barisic cross to beat Lech Poznan 1-0.
Rangers have now clocked up 17 matches in all competitions – remaining unbeaten. But it gets a lot better than that. Of those 17, Rangers have won 15 including an Old Firm victory over Celtic, a 5-1 win over Motherwell and knocking Galatasaray out.
While that is hugely impressive, perhaps the most-impressive stat is Rangers keeping a stunning 14 clean sheets in their 17 games. Just four goals have been conceded, in the 5-1 Motherwell win, a 2-2 draw against Hibernian – and the 2-1 Gala win.
Gerrard has been linked on numerous occasions with Liverpool and signed a contract at Rangers until 2024, not long after Jurgen Klopp had done the same at Anfield. But there have been question marks as to whether he is ready or not.
But his start as Rangers boss in his third season as manager at Ibrox is surely proof that the 40-year-old has what it takes – with Liverpool supporters applauding his 15 wins and 14 clean sheets in 17 games this season.

I want him to prove me wrong so much because I just don't think he'll do well as our manager if he takes over from Jurgen.

Going in right direction so far. If he wins the league with Rangers and some cups he should move away from Scotland and take a challenging role in England. https://t.co/9GyExxUcoY
