Liverpool sit 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table once more – with a game in hand – after a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at Anfield last night.
Goals from Mo Salah and Sadio Mane secured all three points on a night where the Reds were utterly dominant against a side who have lost just one league away game all season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were supremely professional, showing no signs of tiredness despite a hectic festive period and injuries throughout the squad.
Jordan Henderson summed that up perfectly, performing expertly in a midfield which was reshuffled in the minutes leading up to kick off because Naby Keita suffered an injury in the warm up.

It used to be fashionable to criticise Henderson but anyone who watched the game last night could see that the England man is a powerful, tireless midfielder capable of bending Premier League games to his will now.
Team-mate Gini Wijnaldum led the congratulations as Henderson was named Man of the Match by Liverpool’s official Twitter account on a night where the plaudits deservedly rained in.
Next up for Liverpool is a Merseyside derby in the FA Cup and Henderson – provided he is not rested – will hope to play a crucial part there too.
