Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool are likely to be without both Philippe Coutinho and Joel Matip for the trip to Sunderland today as they continue their rehabilitation as he said:

“I don’t believe in miracles. Nobody told me they can do what you have to do when you want to play a football game in two days. No chance.”

The pair have been key men for the Reds this season but have both been missing in recent weeks. Victory over Manchester City in their absence was impressive and Ragnar Klavan will be among those hoping to capitalise.

The Mirror claim that Liverpool may have the edge in a transfer race with Everton and Tottenham for the services of Norwich prospect Jacob Murphy. The winger has been in sensational form in the Championship this season and may move to Anfield and return to Carrow Road on loan until the end of the season according to reports.

The 21-year-old, who currently plays alongside his brother Josh, has scored six goals and assisted a further five in 21 appearances for the Canaries this season despite their poor form leaving them in mid-table following relegation from the Premier League in May.

A potential deal to see Lucas leave after nine years at Anfield could be a permanent one, as Calcio Mercato state that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to allow him to leave, but bosses are demanding that any move to Inter Milan must be a permanent one and not a temporary loan move.

The Brazilian has been a loyal servant for the club during nearly a decade on Merseyside but his cameo substitute appearance against Manchester City may have been his last in a Liverpool shirt if rumours linking him with Inter are to be believed.
