Liverpool were knocked out of the UEFA Youth League yesterday following a penalty shoot-out defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

The Reds had taken the lead through Bobby Duncan who bagged his 21st goal of the season.

Leon Sipos restored parity for the Croatians, however, and Barry Lewtas’ side lost out following the shoot-out.

Liverpool are firmly in contention to win the Premier League U18 North Division, sitting in second place at the moment.

The focal point to this season’s success had been the partnership of  Duncan and striker partner Paul Glatzel.

Like Duncan, the 18-year-old has also been in stunning form in front of goal.

He has netted 19 goals from 26 appearances, linking up telepathically with each other.

Yesterday the duo were at it again as Glatzel laid Liverpool’s opener on a plate for Duncan to put the Reds in front.

There is real optimism among the club’s supporters that these two can have a big future at Anfield.
