Liverpool are hopeful that Champions League hero Divock Origi will soon put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Anfield, according to ESPN.
The Belgian is out of contract with the Champions of Europe next summer and the Reds risk losing him for free.
ESPN believes that talks are progressing well between the two parties and something could be struck very soon.
Origi was in fine form during Liverpool’s run towards Champions League glory last season.

He netted the second goal in the final and also bagged a brace in the comprehensive 4-0 demolition of Barcelona in the semi-final second leg.
With Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all featuring in international competitions, Origi could start the 2019/20 campaign as the club’s main forward.
In all competitions last season he scored eight times and registered two assists.
TBR Verdict
Origi will forever remain in the hearts of Liverpool supporters following his exploits of last season.
The 24-year-old proved to be a decent backup for Liverpool’s front three and the next challenge is to earn more frequent opportunities.
There is a real possibility that Origi starts the season as a regular starter. Firmino has been with Brazil at the Copa America and Mane faces Benin with Senegal this evening.

Salah also played for Egypt at the African Cup of Nations and all three will face a race against time to be ready for the big kick-off.
Following his heroics last season, Liverpool fans won’t be too concerned if Origi does get the nod to start the campaign.
He has proved himself to be someone who can come up with vital goals and boss Jurgen Klopp clearly rates him.
