Jurgen Klopp did his serious squad building during the summer window – which has left him not needing to make genuine investment this month – but that doesn’t mean to say there won’t be some goings on at Anfield before the end of the day.

Reds made to wait for Rabiot

According to Sport, Liverpool were keen to bring Paris Saint Germain outcast Adrien Rabiot to the club this month – and the French champions were open to the idea to raise some money for a midfielder who can leave for free at the end of the season – but the midfielder wants to wait until the end of the season.
Elsewhere, the Evening Standard report that the reason Klopp has not pushed the boat out to sign German international hitman Timo Werner is because he wants to give young hotshot Rhian Brewster his first-team opportunity.
Virtue set for Blackpool switch

Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan reports that midfielder Matty Virtue – captain of the Reds under 21 side – is moving closer to a switch to League One side Blackpool on a permanent two-and-a-half year deal.
