Liverpool missed the opportunity to go seven points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table by drawing 1-1 with Leicester at Anfield last night.
And it is that title race that will be the focus of the Reds’ attention today, despite it being the final day of the January transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp did his serious squad building during the summer window – which has left him not needing to make genuine investment this month – but that doesn’t mean to say there won’t be some goings on at Anfield before the end of the day.

Reds made to wait for Rabiot
According to Sport, Liverpool were keen to bring Paris Saint Germain outcast Adrien Rabiot to the club this month – and the French champions were open to the idea to raise some money for a midfielder who can leave for free at the end of the season – but the midfielder wants to wait until the end of the season.
Elsewhere, the Evening Standard report that the reason Klopp has not pushed the boat out to sign German international hitman Timo Werner is because he wants to give young hotshot Rhian Brewster his first-team opportunity.
Virtue set for Blackpool switch
Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan reports that midfielder Matty Virtue – captain of the Reds under 21 side – is moving closer to a switch to League One side Blackpool on a permanent two-and-a-half year deal.
