Liverpool centre-forward Roberto Firmino has strong record against Huddersfield

Liverpool travel to Huddersfield on Saturday in the Premier League and a lot of pressure could be on the shoulders of centre-forward Roberto Firmino to deliver.

The Merseyside club are still waiting for some injury news on a host of key players, but Firmino came through the international break unscathed from his time with Brazil.

Firmino is an ever-present in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI and has shown at the beginning of the season he’s key at linking up play in the final third.

But the 27-year-old should be somewhat disappointed with the fact he’s got just three goals in 11 games across all competitions.

The technically gifted attacker is capable of scoring more frequently and has missed four big chances missed in the Premier League, according to the division’s official website.

Firmino should be looking to cash in against a Huddersfield side that are defensively vulnerable and he should have good memories from playing against them.

He scored in both league fixtures against them last season, which both ended up as 3-0 victories for the Reds.

There is no threat of Firmino losing his starting position anytime soon, but teammate Daniel Sturridge has actually outscored him with four goals this campaign despite playing a fringe role.

Firmino, who cost £27million (BBC) back in 2015, could do with a couple of goals at the weekend to get himself back on track.
