Liverpool drew 2-2 with Sporting Lisbon last night in a decent pre-season run-out for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Bruno Fernandes got Lisbon off to a glorious start with a goal after just five minutes.
Goals from Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum ensured Liverpool led at the break, however.
A goal from Wendel in the 54th minute saw the end of the goals and the Reds were forced to settle with a draw.
For Liverpool supporters, it gave them the chance to get a closer look at sensational midfielder Fernandes.
It had been reported earlier in the summer by Correio da Manha, that the Reds were preparing a bid for the man who scored 32 goals and registered 18 assists last season.
It doesn’t seem likely that Liverpool will make a bid for the Portugal international, with Klopp seemingly happy with his squad.
That hasn’t stopped Reds supporters expressing their desire to see Fernandes in a Liverpool shirt, however.
Following last night’s game, Twitter was awash with Liverpool supporters craving to see Fernandes strutting his stuff at Anfield.
Here is a selection of tweets from the club’s supporters after watching the £52,000-a-week player (Correio da Manha) score against Liverpool:
