Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool’s official website that Jordan Henderson told him that he wanted to carry on in the second-half of the Reds’ Champions League clash with Midtjylland on Tuesday.
Liverpool have started their group-stage campaign with back-to-back victories. But they were made to work incredibly hard by the Danes at Anfield.

And there were some concerning moments for the Premier League champions. Fabinho had to be taken off due to injury. And supporters may have feared that they would have even more to worry about as Henderson picked up a knock just after the half-hour mark.
Those concerns would not have been alleviated when Henderson was replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum at the break.
But the club have confirmed on their official website that Henderson was not injured. And Klopp has suggested that the plan was always for the captain to be taken off at that stage.

“First, Hendo said at half-time he wants to play on. Before the game I’d decided already we have to share it – 45 and 45 – and all the rest would have been ridiculous,” he told the club’s official website.
“Hendo said at half-time, ‘No, boss, I can go on’ and then in these moments you have to be strong to yourself because I didn’t want to lose him, actually.”
It is a huge boost for Liverpool that Henderson is seemingly fine. The Reds have had some awful luck with injuries in recent times. And the fans will be holding their breath as they wait for news on Fabinho.
But fortunately, it does not appear that they need to have the same concerns about their skipper.
