Liverpool and Manchester City are preparing to do battle to sign highly-rated goalkeeper Berke Ozer, according to Goal.
The 19-year-old has failed to break into the first-team with Turkish giants Fenerbahce and a move could be on the cards.
Swiss giants Basle are also thought to be monitoring the situation.
The young custodian made just one Turkish Cup appearances last season and is now considering his options.
Fenerbahce recently landed Altay Bayindir from Ankaragucu and that could further limit his playing time next season.
Liverpool have been linked with several goalkeepers this summer.
Alisson Becker is firmly established as the number one stopper; although Simon Mignolet may well depart during the transfer window if there is sufficient interest.
The Reds have a plethora of young talent coming through the ranks. Ozer’s signing would serve to complement an ever-growing list of future stars waiting to make their first-team debuts.
Ozer would represent something of an unknown quantity to Liverpool supporters.
He is a decent goalkeeper, however, although he does look like being one for the future.
If the Reds can pip Manchester City to his signature it would be ideal.
Liverpool would probably utilise him in the academy first, especially if Mignolet does stick around.
There is every chance, however, that if he impresses he can make the step up and deputise for Alisson in the first-team.
The 19-year-old already boasts call-ups to the Turkey senior team and he looks as though he could be a real star of the future.
