Liverpool are struggling for options between the sticks following the injury picked up by Alisson on the opening weekend of the season.
The sale of Simon Mignolet to Club Brugge has left new-boy Adrian as the man in goal, but there has been some talk online that Loris Karius could be recalled from his loan deal at Besiktas.
But the Liverpool Echo outline that there is absolutely no chance of the Reds can get Karius back and that the Turkish club are obligated to buy him at the end of the season.
In any case, he is also reportedly injured himself so would not be able to come back and play for the Reds straight away even if his deal allowed.
TBR’s View – Liverpool fans likely breathe a sigh of relief
As much as Alisson’s injury could be a huge early blow to Liverpool’s title hopes, Karius is not the man to solve the mounting crisis.
It’s best for both him and Liverpool that the pair make a clean break – just imagine the pressure that the stopper would be under if he was charged with keeping the clean sheets to take the Reds to their first title in 30 years.
This one just looks like it was started by rumours online, and it’s an absolute non-starter – Adrian will have to carry the can for the time being.
