Liverpool are now suddenly more likely to sign £77m star after ‘Arsenal’s path is closed’

Liverpool and Arsenal are not just rivals on the pitch, but they are having a few battles in the transfer market as well.

Arne Slot’s side have made some big signings already in this window, while the Gunners have also strengthened their squad very well.

Both clubs are still on the market for new additions, and work is going on behind the scenes to reinforce their respective attacks in the coming days.

Now, there is some good news for Liverpool fans.

Liverpool are more likely to sign Rodrygo Goes than Arsenal

Rodrygo Goes is one of the biggest names in this transfer window.

The Brazilian has been a key player for Real Madrid over the last few years and has scored some really important goals for them.

However, new Galacticos boss Xabi Alonso doesn’t seem to be a fan of Rodrygo, and barely started him in the Club World Cup.

That has led to speculation about his future, and Fabrizio Romano revealed that Arsenal have made Rodrygo their ‘dream’ target in this window.

However, Cadena Ser in Spain have claimed now that the deal between the Gunners and the attacker is ‘very complicated’.

It has been revealed that with Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres arriving, ‘Arsenal’s path is closed’, as things stand, in this window.

Then, the report names Liverpool as a potential suitor for Rodrygo, but only if they fail in their pursuit of Alexander Isak.

Newcastle are refusing to sell their star striker, and with Arsenal no longer an option, the Reds could well be the likeliest side to sign Rodrygo, who is valued at €90 million (£77m).

It remains to be seen, however, if Liverpool will still consider a move for Rodrygo even if they sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Rodrygo would make Liverpool very unpredictable

Liverpool already have an unbelievable squad.

The Reds were undoubtedly the best team in the Premier League last season, and the addition of Florian Wirtz to their attack makes them even stronger.

If Slot signs Rodrygo, Liverpool can unleash a fluid front three of Wirtz and Salah on either side of him. All three players can interchange positions and will be a nightmare to defend against.

Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign Rodrygo many years ago at Liverpool. Slot now has the chance to fulfil the German’s wish.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal change their mind about Rodrygo if Liverpool make an official move for his signature in the coming weeks.
