Liverpool have done a lot of their business in the Portuguese League in recent times.
Indeed, the Reds have signed the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz from Portugal, and this summer, a number of links from the Portuguese League have emerged.
Goncalo Inacio is said to be a player the Reds are keen on, while Alan Varela is reportedly a top midfield target for Liverpool.
Interestingly, speaking on KS1 TV, Steve Kay has named another Portuguese League player as a target for Liverpool.
Indeed, according to the journalist, Benfica’s David Neres is a player Liverpool also have an eye on.

Liverpool are looking at David Neres
Kay shared what he knows about the Brazilian attacker and Liverpool.
“He is one of the players they are keeping an eye on (Varela), and also they are keeping an eye on Benfica’s David Neres as well,” Kay said.

Why Arne Slot might want David Neres
From the outside looking in, this may look like a strange rumour.
Liverpool are well-stocked on the wings and Anthony Gordon appears to be the most likely new attacking addition at Anfield.
However, when you dig a little deeper, this move begins to make the world of sense.
Arne Slot will know Neres very well from his time in the Eredivisie with Ajax, while Julian Ward will also have great knowledge of Neres due to his Portuguese connections.
In fact, Ward is good friends with Benfica chief, Rui Costa, and that could prove to be the ace up the Reds’ sleeve if talks for Neres begin.
Neres is also a great fit for Liverpool’s style of play. He’s an absolutely rapid attacking option, and according to The Speeds Database, he’s one of the fastest players in Europe with his top speed numbers level with Darwin Nunez’s.
This is a very exciting rumour, and Liverpool could be getting a very exciting player here if they were to get this one over the line.
